Life drawing

I go to life drawing most weeks and every time I am in awe of the models who are vulnerably sitting and bending into unflattering positions. Life drawing is more than just drawing. It represents the human form in all of its rawness, unique shapes and sizes. Observing a body through a different lens, an objective one. Detaching from the labels we place on bodies. Looking, really looking at the model standing there. I admire the fullness of the woman's breasts. The soft rolls of her stomach. The man who has fallen asleep lying down, I see the afternoon light, shadow his chest. I don’t have emotion attached, I see them for what they are. Beautiful shapes, both fragmented and whole. Shades of colour, The colour in-between the light and dark.
