No Fingers

My husband has no fingers

Stange you might think

No accident ever happened

It more basic then you think

He chewed them off

Slowly one by one

I tried to stop him

But he told me if was fun

I think it was anxiety

The nibbling away

The fingers were a constant

In his very stressful day

So away he chewed

He started from the nail

Down to the base

The stumps did not prevail

I said it didn’t matter

And i would always love him

But now i think

The fingers would have been fun

In and out of things

And he could wear his wedding ring

Anyway

I now don’t even mind

He is the best

With fingers or not

I am a lucky women

With ten of my own

Between us I am the one

Who has to dial the phone

But i love him so i dont mind

Its now all ok

We still have fun every single day
